The Seal Skirt is designed as a versatile, basic spray skirt for kayakers who paddle in standard whitewater and don’t need the stiff, hard-to-put-on rubber of extreme “creek” models. Its design emphasizes ease of use, sufficient flexibility, and a high sense of security, making it very popular among women, juniors, and recreational paddlers.
4mm multistretch neoprene and precision seams
The design ensures excellent thermal comfort and a perfect fit around both the boat and the body:
- Deck and funnel made of 4mm multistretch neoprene: A highly flexible material that easily adapts to your movements, doesn't constrict at the waist, and provides reliable thermal insulation.
- The deck's pre-stressed design: The spray deck is anatomically shaped to create a smooth, taut surface on the boat's coaming. This prevents the formation of "pools" where water would accumulate.
- Perfect seams: All neoprene seams are carefully glued and blind-stitched on the inside (blind-stitched & glued), which guarantees maximum waterproofing.
Knee strap and 8mm elastic band

- 8 mm rubber trim: The optimal rubber thickness for a secure fit on polyethylene (PE) kayaks. Unlike extremely thick rubber, it is much easier to pull over the edge of the cockpit.

Expert Advice and Product Care: Although 8mm rubber is more flexible and easier to put on than heavy “creek” rubber, for a new spray deck we recommend lightly wetting both the edge of the boat and the deck with water before getting in, so that the neoprene slides more easily into place. If you decide to use the knee strap, adjust it thoroughly before your first paddle using the cam buckle to fit the exact length of your legs—it must be loose enough for normal paddling but ready to engage immediately when you lift your knees. Always dry the spray deck by hanging it loosely in partial shade; avoid direct sunlight and drying it on a radiator.
