Dagger Indra SM/MD Action+ belongs to the category of sport creek and river-running kayaks that combine the stability of a "big" creek boat with the playfulness of a half-slice boat. The high bow with pronounced rocker rises readily over waves, rollers and drops, so the rider stays dry longer and has more room to react. Widehull planning keeps the kayak high on the water, accelerates in transitions and facilitates edge control. The tapered, partially "slice" shape of the stern loads easily into pivot turns, allowing for quick changes of direction and playful bounces off rapids without making the kayak nervous or punishing.

Hull, stability and handling

The heart of the Indra isflat planing hull with a wide middle section and sharper transitions to the sides. This allows the boat to react quickly to edging, carve willingly in the current and at the same time have a "floaty" effect - staying high on the surface instead of diving deep into the current. This helps to handle side currents, backwash exits, and crossings of massive currents with less risk of flooding.

Distinctive bow rocker facilitates boofing over the edges of steps and drops and helps keep the tip above the surface even in steep rollers. The stern shape is a three-quarter "slice" - the volume is concentrated closer to the middle of the boat, while the stern end is slimmer. This allows the rider to easily load the stern for pivot turns, bouncing off waves or controlled sit-ups in the current, but the boat still retains enough buoyancy to safely navigate larger rapids. Combined with a 67.5cm beam, the Indra is stable in heeling, forgiving of minor mistakes while remaining very lively and fast on the edge.
