Collar and Ventilation: Adapting to Current Weather Conditions

The best feature of this jacket is its adjustable collar. It is significantly higher than on standard jackets and is equipped with an extended waterproof zipper.

• When it's hot and you're working hard: Unzip the zipper all the way down to your chest to create a huge ventilation opening that will keep you from sweating, even during intense paddling.
• When a storm comes: Zip it all the way up. You can also adjust the collar perfectly using the Velcro and fine-tune it with the elastic drawstring. This gives you the perfect protection against wind and water.

Cuffs and Waistband: Comfortable, Latex-Free Seal

To ensure maximum all-day comfort, Hiko has done away with the constricting latex cuffs on this model and replaced them with a cleverly designed neoprene solution:

• Wrist: They are fitted with cuffs made of thinner, more flexible neoprene. To prevent water from running down the skin into the sleeve, the inside of the cuff is equipped with a smooth "glideskin" ring that acts as a gentle suction seal against the skin. The outer cover is secured with Velcro.
• Passport: The bottom edge of the jacket is protected by a strip with an inner neoprene layer. This system provides excellent grip and prevents the jacket from riding up. The outer Velcro closure ensures that as little water as possible runs down your back.

Storage Space: Pockets Also Available on the Vest

Tourists on the water need to have small items on hand at all times—a map, an energy bar, or sunscreen. The Hiko Argo features two spacious pockets on the front. They’re cleverly designed with side openings, so you can easily and comfortably access them even when wearing a life jacket.

Construction and Material: Freedom of Movement and Taped Seams

The jacket is made from lightweight yet durable Carboflex fabric, which offers an excellent balance of water resistance and breathability. In addition, all internal seams are precisely taped with waterproof tape (taped seams) to prevent any water from seeping in at the seams. The ergonomic, pre-shaped cut accommodates the paddler’s natural seated position and ensures completely unrestricted arm movement when paddling.

Care and Maintenance of a Water Sports Jacket

To ensure your jacket lasts as long as possible, we recommend rinsing it with clean water after paddling in dirty or saltwater. Never dry it in direct sunlight, in a dryer, or on a hot radiator (this may damage the seam tape and neoprene). Dry it by hanging it loosely on a hanger in a well-ventilated room. If the outer fabric loses its water repellency, it can be restored using commercially available water-repellent treatments (DWR).
