The Hiko Nereus debunks the myth that a water sports jacket must necessarily be uncomfortable and single-purpose. Its modern and functional design with a partial zipper allows for easy putting on and taking off, as well as quick temperature regulation. Although it’s primarily designed for paddling, its cut and breathability make it the perfect outer layer for running, cycling, or hiking in chilly weather.

Material and Durability: Double PU coating and ripstop

The jacket is made of high-quality fabric, the base of which is 100% polyester reinforced with a ripstop mesh. This structure prevents any cracks from spreading if you happen to brush against a sharp branch.

• It ensures 100% water resistance double PU (polyurethane) coating, which keeps water from getting in while maintaining the material's breathability.
• The fabric is very soft to the touch on the inside, so you can wear the jacket over a thin, short-sleeved T-shirt on warmer days.

The Nereus is equipped with an easy-to-use hood with a reinforced brim, which prevents water from running down onto your face and retains its shape even in strong winds. Cuffs and Waist: Neoprene Comfort and Double-Layer Collar

• Wrist: They are fitted with soft with neoprene cuffs. They provide excellent thermal comfort, don't tug at your body hair, and don't restrict blood circulation like tight latex, while effectively preventing water from running down your arms.
• Passport: Here you'll find the so-called double chimney (Twin Waist). Tuck the inner layer into your pants, slip the spray skirt over it, and cover everything with the jacket’s outer layer. This creates a watertight seal that keeps water out, even in rough waves.

Storage and Safety: Four Pockets and Reflective Elements

Nereus offers ample storage space in the form of two large pockets on the front panel and others two smaller pockets located directly on the sleeves. All zippers are easy to feel. Care and Maintenance of a Water Sports Jacket

To preserve the properties of the PU coating, we recommend rinsing the jacket with clean fresh water after paddling in saltwater or dirty water. Never wring out the jacket, and do not dry it in a dryer or on a hot radiator. Always dry it by hanging it loosely on a hanger in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. If necessary, you can restore the material’s outer water-repellency with a waterproofing spray (DWR).
