Care of the Polyethylene Shell and Chambers

Although three-layer polyethylene is extremely impact-resistant, we recommend storing the kayak out of direct sunlight to maximize its lifespan. After paddling in saltwater, rinse the entire kayak—especially the metal footrest sliders—with fresh water. Keep the rubber seals on the watertight compartments clean and occasionally treat them lightly with silicone spray on the inside. This will prevent them from becoming brittle and make them easier to open and close.
