KayakThe Dude 95 is the result of 12 months of intensive testing and three generations of prototypes to create a boat you can rely on in any difficulty. "The Dude" literally craves active paddling, but at the same time is tolerant enough for beginners' mistakes. Its main advantage is the ability to instantly "skip" out of any roll or backwash, which gives riders a feeling of unprecedented dynamism. The boat excels in a combination of excellent directional stability and great maneuverability - it can be easily corrected at full speed, even if it has already gone sideways into the current. This gives the rider a huge advantage over other kayaks in this class.
Hull, stability and handling
Ingeniously designed lower hull with innovative edges gives the modelThe Dude high level of stability in any position on the water. Despite its 69 cm width, the boat tilts (edge) more easily than competing models, making it a very safe and mega dynamic machine. The bow has a perfectly tunedrockerwhich makes the boat run extremely dry through back currents and "sponges" and can be easily lifted on waves. The cleverly placed stern volume offers ample margin for massive steps and drops, while the gently rounded edges on the stern allow easy plunging for lightning changes of direction. The Dude is also remarkably insensitive to side currents.
Comfort and interior equipment
Lettmann has designed the cockpit to provide extra space for tall figures, with enormous leg and knee room. However, the equipment can easily be adapted to lighter riders. Please note thathip pads are not included as standard interior equipment, which can be purchased as an optional accessory if required. The main equipment features include:
- Flexi Seat / Rodeo Seat - choice of seat width and type for a perfect fit.
- 3D Percussion Pot - Innovative mirror (footrest) for maximum safety in collisions.
- Alu-Safety Handles - a total of five sturdy aluminium handles (2 behind the cockpit, 1 in front and 2 at the ends) for safe handling and rescue.
- Contour Cushion System - adjustable backrest with ratchet system and padding for a firm connection to the boat.
- Mac Thick Thigh Rests - adjustable thigh rests, which can optionally be exchanged for a thinner version (Mac thin).
- Centre Rail - centre brace to increase hull stiffness and promote safety.
