NRS HydroLock Mapcessory It is a waterproof pouch for maps, guidebooks, and important documents during kayaking adventures or outdoor trips. Simply fold the map properly, place it inside, close the waterproof zipper, and attach the pouch to your kayak, backpack, or other gear.

The transparent urethane window lets you read a map or guidebook from either side without having to open the case and expose the contents to moisture. Thanks to the four corner loops, you can keep the map in plain sight even while out on the water or moving through the terrain.

Maintenance of a Waterproof Zipper

To ensure maximum waterproofing and smooth operation of the closure, the manufacturer recommends cleaning the zipper regularly and treating it occasionally with a special product 303 Protectant. A dirty or poorly maintained zipper may not function properly and could compromise the protection of the contents inside.

Expert Advice

Choose the size of the case based on the map’s dimensions when folded, not its full size. When out on the water, secure the Mapcessory by attaching all or at least two of the corner loops to fixed points on the deck so that the case does not shift and the map remains legible. To maintain reliable waterproofing, regularly remove sand and debris from the zipper and occasionally treat it with 303 Protectant.
