Material and Durability: GORE-TEX® Pro and Cordura®

The NRS Jakl wetsuit is built to withstand rough handling. It’s built on a foundation of top-of-the-line 3-layer GORE-TEX Pro, which currently offers the best combination of durability, waterproofing, wind resistance, and breathability on the market. Unlike lighter models, however, the Jakl Fully reinforced with premium Cordura® in all key areas (knees, seat, elbows, and shoulders). This heavy-duty armor will protect you as you navigate canyons, rescue others with a throw bag from the shore, and when you come into contact with rocks in blocked rapids.

Environmentally Friendly: Recycled Fabric and Dope-Dyeing

Extreme performance doesn't necessarily mean an extreme burden on the environment. The GORE-TEX Pro fabric in this suit uses a 100% recycled nylon outer fabric. The base fabric is dyed using innovative technology dope-dying, which significantly reduces water and energy consumption and minimizes pollution. The external water-repellent finish (DWR) is also formulated to have a lower environmental impact.

Seals and zippers: YKK Aquaseal™ and GlideSkin™ with drainage

To keep you completely dry even in heavy downpours, the suit is equipped with a precision closure system:

• Waterproof zippers: The easy front entry and the toilet (relief) opening are secured by top-quality, 100% waterproof zippers YKK® Aquaseal™. The zipper opening is also protected by an outer flap to prevent mechanical damage.
• Latex and "Big Water" neoprene: The neck and wrists are hermetically sealed by sturdy latex cuffs. These are protected on the outside by GlideSkin™ neoprene. In this expedition model, the neoprene panel on the wrists is intentionally extended all the way to the back of the hand, which drastically reduces pressure and minimizes contact between the rushing water and the latex seal.
• Drainage holes: Sturdy yet flexible mesh openings beneath the neoprene cuffs at the wrists and neck ensure that water is immediately drained away—water that would otherwise accumulate between the latex and the outer neoprene layer.

Kayaking Details: Waistband and Integrated GORE-TEX Socks

This suit comes with features you'll appreciate during all-day river missions:

• Double hem for the spray deck: A 13-cm-wide neoprene waistband with a double Velcro closure ensures a secure connection between the suit and the kayak, creating a watertight seal with the spray deck.
• Socks and Ankle Protection: Your feet will stay warm thanks to the integrated GORE-TEX Pro fabric socks. The outer leg is finished at the ankle with an elastic band featuring silicone dots that grip firmly onto your water sports shoes and prevent the legs from riding up while swimming.
• Equipment pocket: The chest pocket with a splash-resistant zipper provides quick access to essentials (note: the pocket is not completely waterproof when submerged).
