Regular rain jackets aren't enough, because water from the paddle will immediately seep in through the sleeves. That's why the Palm Atlas features a clever solution at the wrists:

• ExoSkin inner cuff: A soft, flexible, and very thin material (soft neoprene/polyurethane) that fits comfortably on the hand, doesn't constrict, and prevents water from running down a raised arm and into the sleeve.
• Asymmetrical outer cuffs: The welded outer cuffs overlap the inner seal, and their tapered shape provides better protection for the back of the hand against the cold.

Care and Maintenance of a Water Sports Jacket

To ensure your jacket lasts as long as possible and retains its breathability, we recommend rinsing it with clean water after paddling in dirty or saltwater. Rinse the zippers occasionally to remove sand. Never dry the jacket in direct sunlight, in a dryer, or on a hot radiator (this may damage the water-resistant layers and cuffs). Dry it by hanging it loosely on a hanger in a well-ventilated room. If the outer fabric loses its water-repellency, it can be restored using commercially available water-repellent treatments (DWR).
