Palm Header Cap This is a neoprene cap designed for paddlers, swimmers, and other athletes who are active in cold water or windy weather. It helps protect the head and ears from getting cold when splashed with water, while swimming, after falling into the water, or during extended time on the water’s surface.

The cap covers the area over the ears and is also designed for use while submerged. Protecting the ears from the cold and repeated contact with water can help reduce exposure to conditions associated with the development of what is known as “surfer’s ear.”

2 mm Neospan with titanium insulation

The hat is made of 2 mm Neospan super-stretch neoprene with a titanium insulation layer. The flexible material conforms to the shape of the head, takes up little space, and provides light to moderate thermal protection in cooler water.

Expert Advice

The cap should fit snugly, but it shouldn’t press against your forehead or ears. If you’re wearing it under a helmet, always check the fit of the entire assembly: the helmet must remain secure, must not shift, and must not obstruct your field of vision. After using the cap in saltwater or dirty water, rinse it with fresh water and let it air dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight and radiators.
