Material and Durability: Proven XP 50 Fabric

The jacket is made of lightweight yet sturdy 2-layer XP 50 fabric.

• This material provides reliable waterproofing and is breathable enough to effectively wick away body moisture (sweat) during active paddling.
• All the seams on the jacket are fully lined waterproof tape, which ensures that water won't seep through, even at the seams. The material is flexible, so the jacket packs down easily and doesn't dig into you anywhere.

Seals: Latex cuffs and neoprene protection

Sealing is absolutely crucial for a dry jacket designed for whitewater. Velocity relies on a tried-and-true classic:

• Neck and Wrist: They are fitted with tight latex cuffs. Natural latex is the only material that guarantees complete waterproofing, even when fully submerged or swimming in a tube.
• Neoprene cover: Because latex is sensitive to the sun's UV rays and prone to mechanical damage, both the neck and wrist cuffs are covered with an additional protective layer of neoprene. This protects the latex and also enhances thermal comfort.

Fit and Cut: Double-layered collar and perfect ergonomics

The bottom edge of the jacket features double chimney (Twin Waist), which provides a perfect, watertight seal with your spray skirt. Tuck the inner nylon tube into your pants, attach the spray skirt tube, and pull the outer tube over it neoprene waistband on a jacket. It's easy to tighten using Velcro and a drawstring, so it doesn't ride up.

Care and Maintenance of a Waterproof Jacket

To ensure that the latex cuffs and membrane remain durable, always rinse the jacket with fresh water after use. Never wring out the jacket, put it in the dryer, or place it in direct sunlight or on a hot radiator (this would cause the latex to crack). Dry it by hanging it loosely on a hanger. Before storing the jacket for the winter, we recommend treating the latex cuffs with a special anti-cracking spray.
