Zegul Arrow Empower 3D C Core: A high-performance sea kayak with premium comfort
Arrow Empower 3D: Performance and Comfort in Harmony
The Zegul Arrow Empower 3D C Core is a dynamic and high-performance sea kayak designed for demanding paddlers seeking the perfect balance between speed, stability, and comfort. The innovative 3D hull shaping ensures excellent hydrodynamic properties and predictable handling on the water. The “Empower” version suggests that this kayak will truly take you to the next level—whether you’re setting out on long expeditions or exploring along the coast.
Design and Hydrodynamics: 3D Shaping and HDPE Durability
The hull shape and materials used ensure a long service life and predictable handling on the water:
- 3D Fuselage Shaping: The innovative design, featuring smooth transitions and optimized lines, ensures excellent glide, directional stability, and minimal water resistance.
- HDPE material: High-density polyethylene, rotomolded for maximum resistance to impact, abrasion, and UV radiation, while maintaining a reasonable weight and ease of maintenance.
- Integrated rudder: The foot-controlled rudder system significantly improves course stability in crosswinds or during long crossings, without compromising the boat's maneuverability when turning.
Outfitting: Core Premium Equipment and Rudder
Zegul emphasizes the importance of keeping everything under control and dry:
- Core Features: A premium seating system with an ergonomically shaped padded seat, an adjustable backrest, and padded thigh supports for maximum comfort even after several hours of paddling.
- Adjustable footrests: They allow you to precisely adjust the length of the cockpit to fit your body for optimal power transfer and a stable riding position.
- Waterproof compartments: The spacious front and rear compartments, separated from the cockpit, can hold all the gear you need for multi-day expeditions and will stay dry even if the kayak capsizes.
- Practical details: High-quality perimeter and deck lines ensure safety during Eskimo rolls and allow you to secure deck bags or pumps. A day hatch provides quick access to small items.
Suitable Activities and Uses on the Water
The Arrow Empower 3D is a great companion for:
- Multi-day ocean expeditions: With plenty of storage space and a high load capacity, it can handle all the gear you need for demanding hikes.
- Coastal Cruises: Thanks to its rudder and 3D-shaped hull, it can handle light swells and crosswinds on more open water.
- Hiking around the Great Lakes and reservoirs: Where it is necessary to cover long distances efficiently with minimal effort.
About the Zegul Brand: A Swedish Tradition of Sea Paddling
The Swedish brand Zegul (now part of the Tahe Outdoors group) is synonymous with clean, functional design and top-quality sea kayaks. Each kayak is designed with respect for the tradition of Scandinavian paddling, where reliability, safety, and the joy of paddling come first. When you choose Zegul, you’re choosing proven European quality with an emphasis on detail.
Care Instructions for HDPE Polyethylene Shells
The HDPE hull is extremely durable, but to maximize its lifespan, we recommend storing the kayak away from constant direct UV exposure (ideally under a roof or a breathable tarp). After a trip, especially at sea, rinse the kayak thoroughly with fresh water. Regularly check the hatch seals, the condition of the lines, and the rudder mechanism, which you should lubricate with silicone spray from time to time.

Expert advice: Thanks to its 3D-shaped hull, the Arrow Empower 3D is incredibly efficient on long trips. Learn to control the rudder with your feet smoothly, without sudden movements, so the boat doesn’t lose speed or stability. Use the rudder primarily to counteract crosswinds, not for sharp turns (the edge and stroke are used for that). Take full advantage of the Core’s adjustable features: find the perfect position for your seat and footrests that will allow you to paddle for hours without getting tired. Use the waterproof compartments wisely: put your sleeping bag and dry clothes in the large rear compartment, your gear and snacks in the front compartment, and items you need to have on hand in the day hatch. Before every longer trip, check the hatch seals and make sure the rudder lines are properly tensioned.
