The Vario clutch system is a revolutionary feature for anyone who changes between different types of boats or paddling styles. This clutch guarantees a tight connection without play and offers:

• Length adjustment: Possibility of infinitely extending the paddle up to 10 cm (e.g. range 195-205 cm). So you can have a shorter paddle for technical playboating and a longer one for expedition downhill.

ConstructionLCS 70 (Light Carbon Sandwich) is perfected on the Nitro. Carbon fibre makes up 70% of the volume and provides extreme stiffness - the paddle doesn't flex during the stroke, so all your power goes straight into moving the boat. The remaining 30% is made up of aramid (Kevlar) fibers, which give the structure the necessary toughness.

Vario clutch maintenance and care

Regular maintenance is essential for the long life of the Vario system. After every paddle (especially in sandy or salt water) we recommend to disconnect the paddle and rinse the clutch and the inside of the blade with fresh water. Sand in the clutch can damage the mechanism. Never lubricate the clutch with oil or petroleum jelly - the system works on a friction basis. Do not store the paddle in direct sunlight in an enclosed car.
