How to choose the right drysuit?
Investing in a quality drysuit is key to your safety and comfort on the water, especially in colder conditions. Unlike a wetsuit, a drysuit keeps you completely dry as no water can get inside. You can then regulate your thermal comfort with layers of thermal underwear worn underneath.
What to focus on when choosing:

Material: Most modern suits are made from breathable, multi-layer membrane materials (e.g., GORE-TEX, Hydrus 3.0, XP 4-layer). These materials wick sweat away from the body but do not let water in. The durability of the material is crucial for longevity, especially in high-wear areas (knees, seat).

Gaskets: Neck and wrist gaskets are most commonly made of latex (best seal) or neoprene (more comfortable but less tight – so-called semi-dry suits).

Socks vs. Ankle Gaskets: Integrated socks made of membrane material are the standard today and ensure your feet stay dry.

Zippers: The entry zipper (front or back) and a relief zipper are essential features. Pay attention to the quality and waterproofness of the zippers (e.g., TIZIP, YKK Aquaseal).

Fit and Sizing: The suit must allow for a full range of motion while having enough room underneath for several layers of thermal clothing.
